DEDICATIONS, David Leisner’s newest solo album, has just been released. This recording is a collection of 10 works, almost all commissioned by Leisner, written by some illustrious composers who also happen to be or have been his friends. 5 of the works were commissioned and written during the Pandemic. And the earliest of the other works go back to 1979 and 1997. The composers are: Chester Biscardi, Carlos Carrillo, David Del Tredici, Pierre Jalbert, Laura Kaminsky, Bun-Ching Lam, João Luiz, Peter Sculthorpe, Randall Woolf and Marilyn Ziffrin. Pianist Alan Moverman joins him for the moving work by Peter Sculthorpe. This is an album that was many years in the making, and one which Leisner considers one of his most significant recordings to date.
